Not many people are aware the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous master detective, Sherlock Holmes, often played the violin though seldom heard by anyone except for his assistant, Dr. Watson.
It is quite likely that Watson could tell by Holmes's playing whether or not a great mystery was about to be solved. Indeed, his best playing would have come about by his instense satisfaction from cracking a case of which even the great Sherlock may at first have doubted his ability to solve.
